Kieran knocked once on his Alpha's door before opening it. "Hello," he called out.

"In here, Kieran." Ben's quiet voice came from the living room.

Kieran headed in that direction. He just couldn't go home yet, not after what had just happened with Damon, and he wanted to check if they'd heard anything more about Corey. He needed to talk to someone. Who better than his friend and Alpha?

Ben eyed him as he sat down in the plush recliner. Kieran had to close his eyes for a second. The sight of his Alpha on the couch, with his mate curled up against his chest, and their son, fast asleep in Tommy's arms, made his heart ache for what he didn't have.

"You look like shit. What's happened?" Tommy asked.

Kieran roughly rubbed his hand over his face, then looked at the Alpha couple.

"I may have done something stupid."

"Like what?" Ben asked him cautiously. With everything else going on right now, he couldn't blame the man.

"I may have hit Damon." Kieran winced as he said it.

"You what?" Tommy asked. Joseph startled at the unexpected noise, and they all became quiet as Tommy gently shooshed the baby back to sleep.

"Explain," Ben said.

Kieran sighed and collapsed back into the seat, slouching down. "I don't know what happened. My anger and frustration at the Corey situation just kept building and building all day. By the time I finished work, I was furious at Damon and his bloody partner. I went to the hotel. He opened the door, all naked and wet, like he'd just stepped out of the shower." Fuck the man had looked bloody stunning. Kieran had to shake his head to clear the image. "My mouth dried up, and all I could think about was fucking him. Then that made me even madder, as our entire relationship so far has been physical."

Tommy coughed, and Ben lightly pinched his mate on the hip causing, Tommy to squirm in his lap. "Behave, pup," Ben quietly growled. Tommy stilled and Ben once again looked at Kieran. "You were saying?"

"I have no issue with physical. We seem to work really well in that department, but as soon as the fucking is over, everything turns to shit. We haven't gone on a date; we haven't discussed our families, not a single like and dislike. I don't even know what pack Damon belongs to in Brisbane." Those were things a wolf should know about his mate. "It all just boiled over, so I hit him."

"You're both alpha-type wolves, strong, stubborn, and far too much testosterone running through your bodies. Emotions are also currently sitting very close to the surface due to the situation we're in. Add in a mating, and it's not surprising that things have boiled over into fights," Ben said as he stared at Kieran. "I am surprised that Damon didn't retaliate."

Kieran frowned at his Alpha, not sure why Ben thought Kieran deserved to be hit.

"Damon is currently doing everything he can to protect shifter secrets. He's putting his career on the line by trying to help us.
